I’ve been taking ETEC 530 this semester at UBC, also known as Constructivist Strategies in E-Learning and the foundational readings are all of epistemological pursuits of knowledge. Which, for obvious reasons is critical to understanding constructivist strategies, but it is also a sharp reminder of how much I hate Western philosophical textbooks. A key reminder to people writing these textbooks is that its a textbook and not a treatise. It’s purpose is different, its use is different. God. Here’s a spiteful rewrite of an incredibly grammatical obtuse sentence.
A primary quality is a feature of an object that the object has independently of anyone perceiving the object; the secondary quality of an object is dependent upon the perception of an agent.
A primary quality is a feature of an object that it has, independent of anyone perceiving it. The secondary quality refers to the quality of an object being dependent on the agent perceiving it.
I mean, we got grammar rules for a reason 🙄
